Domenico Piccichè, born in Palermo in 1970, personifies the ideal of intellectual eclecticism, distinguishing himself as one of the most versatile and authoritative figures within the contemporary cultural landscape.
His human and professional trajectory unfolds through a rare symbiosis between the sensitivity of artistic interpretation and the rigour of jurisprudence.

Education and Academia
His path was inaugurated under the aegis of precocious talent: having earned his academic diploma in piano with the highest honours and laude from the Conservatory of Palermo at the age of eighteen, he concurrently pursued classical and legal studies, graduating cum laude in Law with a thesis on "Artistic Creation and Interpretation in Law".
His musical refinement took place within the most prestigious European institutions, under the guidance of giants of world pianism such as Jörg Demus, Maria Tipo, Aldo Ciccolini, and Boris Petrushansky for piano; and Piero Rattalino and Eliodoro Sollima for analysis and composition.

Concert Career and Collaborations
An acclaimed performer on international stages, Piccichè has graced the most illustrious venues, from Lincoln Center in New York to the Tokyo Opera City Concert Hall, spanning the musical cathedrals of Berlin, Paris, and Amsterdam, the Teatro Massimo in Palermo, the Auditorium S. Cecilia in Rome, the Zernezer Musikwochen in Switzerland, the University of Tübingen in Germany, and the National Theatre of Sofia in Bulgaria.
His palmarès is adorned with triumphs in competitions of the highest calibre, notably the first prize at the "Ibla Grand Prize" and the "Città di Roma" competition.
Among his most distinguished collaborations, one must cite those with the tenor Pietro Ballo, with Giorgio Gasbarro, principal cellist of the Teatro Massimo in Palermo, and with the ballerina Oriella Dorella, étoile of the Teatro alla Scala in Milan. Alongside the pianist Nina Gallo, he co-founded the Duo Excentrique.

An absolute pioneer in the field of Entertainment Law in Italy, he is the author of the treatise "Elementi di Diritto d'Autore e dello Spettacolo" (Elements of Copyright and Entertainment Law), published by Rugginenti, Milan.
This seminal text, adopted by leading Conservatories and Universities, saw its three editions (the latest in 2018) rapidly exhausted, and was followed by the "Compendio di Diritto d'Autore e dello Spettacolo" (Compendium of Copyright and Entertainment Law), of which the third edition was released in 2026.
His literary prowess, extended to narrative fiction, earned him the Honour Plaque at the "Modello Pirandello" literary prize for the novella "Il porco", published by Mondadori, Milan.
His essayistic production includes significant studies in musical analysis on Beethoven and Mozart. Most recently, in 2026, he published the essay "The Musician's Inner Game: A Manual of Performance Psychology", offering a system to identify and overcome the infinite series of fears, anxieties and doubts that beset the life and profession of the performer, with the aim of radically enhancing the quality of performance, learning, and the musical experience.

Academic and Institutional Commitment
As a First-Tier Professor at the Conservatory of Palermo, his "School" is distinguished by numerous successes in national and international piano competitions. He has conducted piano and chamber music masterclasses both in Italy and abroad, and serves as a lecturer in professional development courses on school legislation and the AFAM (Higher Education in Art, Music, and Dance) sector.
He has held institutional roles of the highest profile, such as Disciplinary and System Expert for ANVUR and national representative for CNAFAM, actively influencing reforms within the musical and AFAM sectors at the level of Government and Parliament, by whom he has been repeatedly summoned for formal hearings.
